i was told, back then, that there was no guaranteed funding at nyu for phd students (ie no stipends, no “free” insurance), but guaranteed full scholarships. I ended up doing my. i got the steinhardt scholarship, which basically is allowing me to go tuition free plus the pell grant. I pretty much have to pay housing, but luckily i have two outside scholarships. was wondering how nyu does merit based scholarships?
