If you are unsure and want a biology degree, go for it. You might be able to enter a field with just a bio degree like i did. Or if you’re having trouble starting a career, you can get a masters degree in a more specific area. a bio degree can be the basis for a lot of career choices. I know mds, dvms, phds, mss, as well as leaders in biotech who all had biology undergrad degrees. a basic science bs (which is typically the study of nature and animals, insects and such) does not give enough education on things that are important to other sciences. A biology degree can be good for pursuing graduate studies but most people don’t give a shit that you can name the parts of a bug. redditors who have a degree in biology, what is your career now? I thought i was doing everything right. I got a bs in biology and an almost perfect gpa. I thought i wanted to go into the medical field but the realities. I can choose either fun, mostly useless classes or more rigorous slightly less fun but probably beneficial classes. For example, i could take molecular evolution (fun) or general microbiology (difficult).
